Blue Mountain Military Shoot

Join us in May 2009 for the second annual Blue Mountain Military Shoot sponsered by Blue Mountain Gunworks.  This event is open to military  weapons of any time period; matchlock to modern.  A portion of the proceeds will be given to the San Juan County Search and Rescue Team.  The shoot will be held near Monticello, Utah on 5000 acres of private property.  Event times are 0900-1700 Saturday and 0900-1630 Sunday, with early registration and campground checking 1600-2000 Friday the 16th.  Ranges will be open both days.  This is not a scored event, but rather a relaxed time to shoot, visit, and fellowship.
    
Registration costs are $25 until May 1st and $35 after May 1st until the day of the event.  Anyone shooting must register.  The registration fee includes; 1 event T-shirt, 3 paper targets, information packet, and a chance in the prize drawing.  Grand Prize is a Soviet Mosin Nagant Model 91/30 rifle with sling, bayonet, ammo pouch, and cleaning tool kit.  Other prizes include a Surefire flashlight, knives, etc…  The public is welcome for a $10 entrance fee.  Children 12 and under are welcome free of charge.  The public will not be able to participate in the shoot, but will be able to watch and walk around and visit.  There will be multiple raffle drawings throughout the weekend for knives, ammunition, targets, etc…  Feel free to dress in period impression or drive your military vehicle.

Range facilities will include rifle at 300yds, 200yds, 100yds, and 50yds; pistol at 25yds, and a mixed obstacle area with foxholes, log barriers, and a vehicle.  Targets will consist of various reactive materials such as steel and ballistic polymer.  There will also be paper targets available if you would like to score yourself or sight in.  The mixed obstacle area will feature a vehicle downrange!  There will be Range Safety Officer at each target area to ensure safety.  San Juan County EMS will also be onsite in case there is a serious emergency.

There will also be a vendor area where you can grab a hot meal and purchase ammunition, targets, shooting accessories, militaries, etc…  The Utah National Guard is planning on attending with a display of their own! .  Additional vendors are welcome at no charge.
    
There are many fine hotels and restaurants in the City of Monticello for you to enjoy, or you can camp onsite for a charge of $5 per night.  Camping will be primitive with no water/hookups.  Camping is available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.
